The M4 CS sits between the M4 Competition and the M4 GTS, and is the most driver-focused model BMW offered in the F82 range without going fully track-only. The 3.0 litre inline-six produces 460 ps and 600 Nm through a seven-speed DCT to the rear wheels. The bonnet, roof, diffuser and rear spoiler are carbon fibre, while the door panels use compacted natural fibre as on the GTS, reducing weight by 16 kg over the Competition. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres are standard fitment.

Fun fact: the OLED rear lights appeared first on the M4 GTS, a BMW first. The CS was one of the few models to carry them over from the GTS into a less extreme variant.

De M4 CS zit tussen de M4 Competition en de M4 GTS in, en is het meest rijgerichte model dat BMW in de F82 reeks heeft aangeboden zonder volledig naar het circuit te migreren. De 3,0 liter zescilinder levert 460 pk en 600 Nm via een zeventraps DCT naar de achterwielen. Motorkap, dak, diffusor en achtervleugel zijn uit carbon fibre, de deurbekleding uit samengeperste natuurvezel zoals op de GTS, wat het gewicht ten opzichte van de Competition met 16 kg verlaagt. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 banden zitten er standaard op.

Leuk detail: de OLED achterlichten kwamen voor het eerst op de M4 GTS, als primeur bij BMW. De CS nam ze over als een van de weinige overnames van de GTS naar een minder extreme variant.

Le six cylindres en ligne de 3,0 litres développe 460 ps et 600 Nm via une boîte DCT à sept rapports aux roues arrière. Le capot, le toit, le diffuseur et l'aileron arrière sont en fibre de carbone, tandis que les panneaux de porte utilisent de la fibre naturelle compactée comme sur la GTS, réduisant le poids de 16 kg par rapport à la Competition. Des pneus Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 sont montés de série.

Anecdote: les feux arrière OLED sont apparus pour la première fois sur la M4 GTS, une première chez BMW. La CS est l'un des rares modèles à les avoir repris de la GTS dans une version moins extrême.
