Ferrari 812 Competizione

The Ferrari 812 Competizione marks the possible end of an era. It may be the last Ferrari production car powered by a naturally aspirated V12 engine without hybrid or turbo assistance. As electrification advances, the era of high-revving, large-capacity V12 engines is nearing its conclusion. If this is indeed the final chapter, Ferrari has ensured that it ends on a historic note.

The 812 Competizione is an evolved version of the 812 Superfast. Its 6.5-liter V12 now produces 830 horsepower, compared to the Superfast's 800. The competition follows in the lineage of front-engined, rear-wheel-drive V12 Ferraris such as the 599 GTO and F12tdf. These cars have always demanded precision and courage from the driver, and the 812 Competizione continues that tradition with even greater focus and performance.

The exterior design combines technical function with visual aggression. The car features sharper lines, vortex generators, and an all-carbon rear deck without a rear window. Instead, a rear camera provides improved visibility. Every element of the design enhances aerodynamic efficiency, generating 30 percent more downforce than the 812 Superfast.

Ferrari re-engineered the 6.5-liter engine to deliver higher performance and response. The pistons are redesigned, titanium connecting rods are 40 percent lighter, and diamond-like carbon coating reduces friction on the piston pins. The crankshaft is three percent lighter, and the cylinder heads, cams, and intake system are reworked using Formula 1 technology. The result is a redline raised to 9,500 rpm. Combined with a 38 kg weight reduction, the Competizione offers extreme responsiveness and precision.
